Three people are dead after a man killed two neighbors he was feuding with before turning the gun on himself, according to reports on Thursday, Nov. 21.
The man, who lived in the 7300 block of East Walnut Lane, came out of is his house with a gun as his two neighbors, a 77-year-old man and a 76-year-old woman, were coming home from grocery shopping at around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, a Fox29 News report states.
Alvinn Berry, 66, was found dead at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the Philadelphia Police Department said in a news release. He was pronounced dead at 4:15 p.m.
Clinton Quarles, 77, and Linda Beeks, 76, were named as the victims who were found shot at the scene, according to police. Quarles was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:13 p.m. Beeks was pronounced dead from her injuries at Jefferson Einstein Hospital at 4:13 p.m.
Police confirmed that all three lived on the 7300 block of East Walnut Lane.
As Quarles and Beeks were walking up the steps to their home with grocery bags in hand, Berry shot them both before turning the gun on himself, according to Fox29 News.
A witness told NBC10 News that Berry fired multiple shots at Quarles and Beeks, even shooting them a number of times after they fell to the ground.
Neighbors later told police that Berry and the couple had been involved in verbal disputes in the past, the NBC10 report states. It's unclear at this time if Berry had been provoked.
